FACIAL CONTURE

To conture ur face is to Shadow and sculpt your face:

Contouring can be like a face-lift without surgery. It tapers the face to add or take away depth.
All you need is a powder shadow one shade darker than your complexion and a contour brush.
Be careful not to use too much color, though. Always remember to tap off the excess powder onto a tissue first.

To pick up droopy eyelids, add color to the lids from the outer corner to the center, then blend over the bone. Don't go higher than the crease.
To narrow the nose, apply color along the sides of the nose. but not directly onto the center.

To lift cheekbones, use your fingers to locate your cheekbones, then brush on a few sweeps of shadow in a diagonal direction toward the tip of the ear at the hollow of your cheeks.
The result is softer if you apply in light layers.

To camouflage a double chin, shade the area just below the chin, right under the jawline, but not on the neck. Move the brush from left to right.

To define the jawline, brush the color directly under your bone from the ear to the chin.

BE SURE TO HAVE A PERFECT SHADE FROM YOUR NORMAL FACIAL LOOK. WITH THIS YOU CAN HAVE ANY FACIAL STRUCTURE YOU SO DESIRE.

THE PERFECT LIPS

We all like fresh and lovely lips. Here's how to get the look:

Begin with a balm; it smooths and preps lips for color. Sheer, flesh-tone neutrals are the look of season.

If your natural lip color is a bit uneven (most are), use foundation on your lips first to even the tone, then apply your lip color with a brush.

If you're just not feeling a neutral or unlined lip, you can add more definition with a lip pencil that's slightly darker than your lip color. Use the liner only at the corners of the mouth.

Fade the color into the lip with a sponge. Put on your lipstick with a brush, then purse your lips together to soften the effect.

FINDING OUT THE SHAPE OF YOUR FACE

Follow these simple steps in finding out the shape of your face;

• Take a sheet of paper, the same size as your face and a flat ruler.
Brush your hair well back and begin to measure your face, taking great care to keep the ruler perfectly horizontal or vertical.

• Take the total length from the hairline to the point of your chin
(draw a line to indicate this measurement);

• Take the total width (at the height of the forehead, the eyes,
the cheekbones and the mouth). Now draw the general outline of the face
as accurately as you can;

• Take the height of the forehead from the hairline to the eyebrow line
(draw a horizontal line there);

• Take the height of the eyes (draw a line there);

• Take the distance from the eyebrows to the base of the nose (a line);

• Take the distance between the base of the nose and the edge of the upper lip;

• Take the distance between the base of the nose and the lower lip;

• Take the width of the mouth;

• Take the length of the chin.

• Draw diagrammatically the curve of the eyebrows, the nose, the mouth, etc, and you have represented your face on the paper.

Compare it with the classical oval shaped face and you will see the type to which you belong.

MASCARA APPLICATION TECHNIUES.

HOW TO APPLY MASCARA
Mascara adds a flattering fringe to your eyes - particularly if your lashes are flair. Applying Mascara is the final step in eye makeup. Mascara is applied on the eye lashes to beautify them. Different formulas and application of mascara can enhance your lashes in different ways. To make the eyes alluring, the use of the right eye makeup product using the correct technique is very important. For eye-popping appeal to this focal point of the face, the basic idea is to use complementary colors. Mascara adds volume and length to the lashes and make your eyes appear brighter and more beautiful.

APPLICATION TIPS
Are you looking for "how to apply mascara" Here are some tips for you..
Start by applying mascara to your upper lashes first.
Brush them downwards to start with, then brush your lashes upwards from underneath.
Use a tiny zig-zag movement to prevent mascara from clogging on your lashes.
Next, use the tip of the mascara wand to brush your lower lashes, using a gentle side to side technique.
Take care to keep your hand steady whilst you are applying the mascara and not to blink while the mascara is still wet.
Comb through your lashes with an eyelash comb to remove any excess the wand has left behind Select a color. If you have blond or red lashes then go for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes. Before applying mascara curl the lashes to widen the eyes. Prior to your mascara, Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler and apply all other eye makeup.Begin with the underside of your upper eye lashes and then moving the brush slowly upward toward the tips of your lashes. Wait for a minute for them to dry, and similarly apply a second coat. Let the first coat dry completely, then apply the second coat. Two thin coats look more natural than one thick coat.
Finally brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.

CHOOSING MASCARA COLOUR
For women with blue eyes eyeliners in brown and rose tones contrast the blue of the eyes, making them appear more vibrant. Green eyes, on the other hand, brighten up with violet shades that give a dramatic look for evenings or stage makeup and look great in photographs. A mocha shade is a subtle, everyday look for all eye colors but especially brown eyes, which also give a smoldering look when green and gold eyeliners are used.

eyeliners are charcoal, black, and chocolate, good for all eye colors, except those with small eyes would do well to avoid these, as they tend to make eyes appear smaller. Thus, it is preferable to restrict dark eyeliner colors to the crease of the eye and highlight the brow bone with a light shade.All eye shadows need to complement the eye and hair-color of the person and a bit of powder dusted on the eyelid prepares the eyeliner to set well and intensify the eyes.

How to remove eye mascara
Mascara must be removed very carefully to avoid damaging the delicate skin around the eyes. While removing the mascara from eyes always avoid the colour from going onto the delicate area below the bottom lashes and close your eyes. Roll a cotton bud dipped in a cosmetic cleanser over the lashes, taking the mascara down onto the tissue. Repeat this till all the mascara is gone.

MAKEUP - WEDDING TIPS

Think seriously about hiring a make-up artist for your big day!

BUT IF YOUR CHOICE GOES BEYOND THAT, DON'T BE CAUGHT ON THE WRONG SIDE.

TAKE A CLUE!
Be sure your skin is clean before you put on the make-up, to get the best result. Start with the foundation, which should be so perfectly matched to your skin tone that it disappears.

Use a blush to highlight your features.

The color on your lips is important. A strong color put focus on your lips and a little more natural color put focus on your eyes. Be sure to carry your lipstick with you for touch ups.

The most important in your face is your eyes. Big sparkling eyes always get attention. Do not wear too much eye make-up. Apply concealer to banish dark circles under your eyes. Remember to use matte eye shadows as they will not reflect light or look too shiny. This is also important to remember to get your pictures perfect.

Wear at least two layers of mascara (that is waterproof and withstands tears!) and use an eyelash curler before applying the mascara.

Do not use blue or sparkling eyeliner, as they look too dramatic but this is an option to what look you want to achieve.

Define your brows with a pencil or powder that matches your hair color.

Do have a lovely wedding outing!

MY CONCEPT; AN ART OF BEAUTY

IN ACHIEVING THIS LOOK;
This is a highly pigmented skin, with break out, dry lip and oily skin.
  • FIRSTLY; I cleansed the face and applied oil blocker to reduce shine, then i primed the skin.
  • SECONDLY; I applied a concealer and a foundation to hide the spots and achieve a flawless skin.          applying loosed powder to set the foundation.
  • THIRDLY; I primed the eye before applying a shimmering burnt orange eye shadow to the inner eye lid, then a royal purple to smoke the outer eye lid. contoured the crease with hazel and purple shadow, highlighted the brow-bone with an highlighter. i then set the brow lash with a mascara wand sweeping across brown pencil to fill the lashes.
         The lower lid is not left out, i simply applied gold and purple shadow to the outer lower lid and a       black pencil to the inner lid to create an effect.

         Then with a final effect, i lined the upper lid with a liquid eye liner and then brush out the upper   and lower lashes with volume-blast mascara.
  • NEXT; I moisturized the lip, lined it, fill in cracked parts with lip sticks and blend in with a shinning lip-gloss.
  • FINALLY; I applied blush sparingly to the apple of the cheek, sweeping upward to the temple of the face. then with a translucent powder, i set all the makeup in, giving the face a warm an flawless look.

ALL THAT IS LEFT IS A TRANSFORMED, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, DOVY LOOK.

HEAD GEAR;
  • This is mostly not left out of the Nigeria traditional dressing and as such must and should be given a priority as well. In achieving this wonderful piece of art, i simply used a well cut-out head-tie and some pins to set-in.

I HOPE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SATISFY YOUR CURIOSITY ON THIS WONDERFUL ART OF BEAUTY. PLEASE REACH US FOR MORE DETAILS.

LOOKING NATURAL

Natural Makeup
Natural makeup does not mean spending an outstanding amount of time applying an outstanding amount of makeup. It just means spending quality time applying makeup strategically.
Natural makeup is a term used to describe makeup that mimics tones and hues already within one’s complexion. A complexion consists of many hues and undertones. The ultimate goal of applying natural makeup is to create harmony with what nature has provided. Often times, natural makeup is confused with no makeup. No makeup just implies a lack of effort and time; natural makeup is actually, just the opposite. It is carefully selected and applied to enhance features so that they appear to have been a genetic gift of beauty.

This is not to suggest that natural makeup means spending an outstanding amount of time applying and outstanding amount of makeup. It just means spending quality time applying makeup strategically. Let me explain.

To Begin Natural Makeup

1. Always begin with a cleansed, toned, and moisturized face and eye area. Being of mature skin, I use an alpha hydroxy serum for gentle exfoliation and promotion of smoother skin. The serum will help rid the skin of the dull, ashy appearance and improve the color of the skin by getting rid of dead skin cells on the layer of the skin.

2. When applying natural makeup, I like to look back to photographs of my youthful days to remember the colors that lit up my face as a child. I look at the cheeks and lips to get an idea of pink or peach. Over the years, hair color changes, skin changes, and we no longer see the colors that nature once gave to us. This is a once and done deal. Once you look at your photograph and decide which colors were natural to your skin, the rest is easy.

Applying Natural Makeup

1. Next, you may still need to correct under eye circles. No matter how natural you want to be, if you have bags and circles, you just look tired!

2. Not everyone needs to wear foundation. A tinted moisturizer is a wonderful trick to natural makeup. You are adding well-deserved nourishment to the skin with an added benefit; a tint of color. You may also opt for applying a bit of foundation to only the parts that show redness to even out the complexion. The truly blessed are those that need just a great moisturizer to add a healthy glow. The end result of natural makeup foundation is to return the skin to the youthful glow. This is why heavy foundations and matte finishes are seldom used in natural makeup.

3. As a child, my cheeks were always rosy. This is the inspiration for natural makeup. Use rouge that is similar to those pictures. If you cannot tell due to the quality of picture or the lack of color try this easy trick: gently pinch your cheeks. Remember: Gently. Black and blue is not in the natural color scheme. A gentle pinch will give you insight to your skin’s natural blush shade. Apply the rouge to the apples of your cheeks. I sometimes sweep a bronzer or rouge to the areas of my face where the sun would kiss. Once again, this gives a natural glow. Just be careful not to apply too much. You don’t want to look sunburned.

4. Natural eye makeup is simple. Keep to neutral shades. Colors such as taupe, brown, peach, and mauve give freshness to the eyes without overpowering the skin. These neutral colors will allow your natural features to shine by complementing the iris. When applying natural makeup, I keep the color families for eyes, cheeks, and lips the same. Use your natural blush as the guide for choosing colors. Since I have naturally rosy cheeks and pink lips, I use a light mauve shadow, a rose blush, and clear gloss with a rose tint. The colors don’t compete and are not the focus of my face; instead, the dewy glow is the focus.

5. A light powder liner can be applied to make the lashes appear thicker as in our younger days. You may see that liner is not necessary.

6. Curl the eyelashes and apply a brown or clear mascara to add length. Brown is a natural color that won’t add drama, but only lengthen and fill in areas that may be sparse.

7. Use a lipstick that is creamy and close to your natural lip tone. Apply a dab of gloss to the center of the lips to emphasize fullness. In place of a creamy lipstick, try a tinted gloss. Tinted glosses are excellent for adding a pinch of color and sheen all in one.
